Industrial Designer

Summary of role:

Bathroom Brands Group is a leading innovator in bathroom interiors, encompassing a diverse portfolio of brands. We are seeking a talented and ambitious Industrial Designer to join our design team and help shape the next phase of New Product Introduction (NPI) across all our brands and product categories.

This role is best suited to an industrial designer with 2-3 years of experience, including a placement year, who is eager to develop as an in-house designer with exposure to the commercial aspects of product development. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, capable of taking initiative and managing their responsibilities independently while contributing effectively to the team. This role offers workload freedom and flexibility, requiring self-motivation and accountability.

 

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Manage and produce data assets for new product launches, including 2D & 3D files.
  • Provide design support to the Head of Design and Senior Designer across all projects within each NPI cycle.
  • Lead designer role on select projects within each NPI cycle.
  • Conduct trend research and forecasting under the supervision of the Head of Design to ensure NPI cycles are launched with commercially relevant CMF.
  • Create and maintain technical data packs for new products, including installation guides, technical drawings, CMF specifications, and design documentation.

 

Expertise:

  • Proficiency in KeyShot, SolidWorks, Adobe InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • An interest in AI-driven design with experience in prompting and experimenting across AI tools such as Vizcom, Midjourney, and Magnific.
  • Experience working within teams designing products that align with design briefs and commercial considerations.
  • Strong appreciation and understanding of the history of design.
  • Experience or strong interest in design research, including CMF and trend forecasting within both industrial and interior design.
  • Skilled communicator capable of conveying ideas through clear and engaging narratives.
  • Ability to independently seek inspiration and conduct research to develop a strong personal design process.
  • Team player with the ability to give and receive constructive, evidence-based feedback.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, particularly in a role that includes workload freedom and the flexibility of working from home.
  • Desirable: Experience producing animations in KeyShot.
  • Desirable: previous experience in home & interiors /KBB industry
