Brief summary of duties:
To ensure all project opportunities within the project channel are estimated accurately and within the agreed SLA. Provide detailed pricing proposals, image documents and visualisations for the Specification Sales team. Provide specification and technical support as required.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Specification: Provide suitable specifications dependent upon the type of project and area. Considering any specific approvals or certifications that may be required. Making use of complete BBGP portfolio.
- Design Service: Produces proposal documents including image quotations and CGI. Visualisations for Housebuilders, Major Developers and other customer types as required by the Specification Sales team.
- Estimating: Produce estimates generated by the Projects team and customers directly. Maintaining and protecting aspirational margins.
- Quotations: Ensure all quotations are generated using Salesforce CPQ and are maintained. Management of expired pricing. Preparing presentable quotations to maximise the opportunity potential.
- Value engineering: Alternative Specifications and spec busting revisions. Liaise with Technical Services Manager to ensure spec busting inventory is reflected.
- Identification of target price list and maintenance of competitor library.
- Act as main point of contact for any technical queries and support to both internal & external support colleagues alike.
- Liaising with clients on discontinued items and suitable replacements for their projects.
- Develop key relationships with our contract merchant client and supplier base.
- Works with Specification Sales team and Project Partners to increase share of the wallet and maximise growth opportunities with the projects pipeline.
- Overseeing development and provision of daily/weekly/monthly reports.
- Working to source and bring to launch contract type products to better suit our market.
- Ensure WRAS and other certifications are kept up to date and ensure any new additions into the spec book follow these requirements.
- Work with Product Managers and Technical Services Manager on feasibility and management of Bespoke product requests and pricing.
- Any other ad hoc duties that may be required to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Previous experience of working within a KBB industry is preferred but not essential.
- Understand quantifying and taking off of materials.
- Advanced computer skills and demonstrable competency with software essential. We use Salesforce and Excel daily.
- Confident Self-starter.
- Team player.
- Ability to solve problems, creative solution provider.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
