Brief summary of duties
This is a key role in our organisation to help transform our supply chain and to drive performance across our European and Far East Suppliers.
Key duties are:
- Buying responsibility for both Direct and Indirect Products and Services
- Ensuring responsible suppliers perform to the Business Governance requirements and evolving needs of the business, shareholders and customers, in respect to Product Quality, Cost performance/development, Delivery Compliance, Environmental, Sustainability, CSR policies, Legal and legislative requirements, etc.
- Identify cost savings initiatives for products and services for the group
- Key stakeholder in enabling the Procurement department to achieve best in class service and proposition value
- Foster and support Suppliers and Factories development to reach their best level of performance
- Support the development of Sourcing and Category Strategies
The objective is to build resilient and cost-effective supply chain solutions to enable to reach best in class service levels.
Key areas of responsibility
- Assess value proposition and effective landed costs for bought in goods
- Manage suppliers, Supplier price lists and lead Supplier price and contract negotiations
- Lead the process of finding new supply partners for supplier and product manufacturing contracts
- Able to identify, assess and develop factories to achieve the best manufacturing performance,
- Lead RFI/RFQ/tendering processes and prepare associated data analysis to recommend best product or service offering for the business
- Ability to speak Italian, Spanish or Portuguese would be an advantage but not essential
- Manage cost modelling work for key product lines
- Ensuring all current and new Suppliers are approved in accordance with Business Approvals and Governance processes
- Evaluate the market for alternative Supplier and Product opportunities
- Strong internal collaboration across the business, significantly with Planning, Quality, Product Management and Warehousing functions
Key skills
- Degree in Product Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3 years in product development of manufacturing process development
- 2 to 3 years of experience of project management or purchasing/procurement
- Good manufacturing knowledge and ability to assess factories performance and skills
- Ability to work autonomously & independently
- Good negotiation skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to analyse data and make relevant recommendations
